		Smart Grid The smart grid is simply a focal point to manage the electricity consumption of a geographic area. The idea is that smart meters will relay information to the utility companies. The utility company will then put the information into a database. Once the information is reliable sent into the database, then you are creating a smart grid. Why is the grid smart? The grid is smart because it can be managed by a computer. The energy usage can be decreased because companies can charge higher for peak energy times and see where energy is being wasted. This will all help overall energy usage to be more efficient.
