		Google PowerMeter Google is one of the very smart companies. Www.google.org is a site that shows Google's technology driven philanthropy. One of Googles greatest interests is in energy. They have helped fund a company called Nanosolar that has great promise for changing energy in the next few years. Google has also come out with a technology called Google PowerMeter. Google PowerMeter is software. How it works is your Smart Meter will relay information to your home or office computer. Then, on PowerMeter, you will be able to see your electricity usage. This is a great idea by Google. In the next few years, there will be millions of Smart Meters installed. The meter hardware will likely become a commodity and under control of the utilities for installation. The winners here will be those that have the best software. There are big players out there researching this market (GE, for example). We can expect that Google will likely end up producing the most valuable database that can be used by everyone free of charge. Why would they do this? They will get the traffic and maintain their presence as the top search engine of the world.
